The ValuesJam

Updated: 7 days ago

As part of the World Values Day 2025 , our final Future of Values conversation closed on the note of inclusivity, a timeless value, yet one that feels forgotten in today’s fast-changing world.

That reflection naturally led me to think about belonging. Because when inclusivity is missing in our communities or workplaces, belonging becomes hard to find.

During the ValuesJam session with Alan Williams, we explored this very theme. The fun began when I chose a number to pick a card from the deck and it turned out (quite fittingly) to be Belonging. A value that is timeless yet complex.

What is ValuesJam?

It is card game inspired by musical jamming, where musicians come together, unrehearsed, to create something spontaneous and beautiful. The same magic unfolded in our jam: we were fully present, curious, trusting, open to surprise, giving each other space and respect.

We discovered a rhythm that was our own, and something unique emerged, something that can never quite be repeated.

The first question, “What does belonging mean and what does it look, feel and sound like?”, opened a conversation that was rich, honest, and human. It flowed with ease, touched on vulnerability, and was filled with laughter and insight.
